Our continuum of care allows for a client’s needs to be addressed in a consistent and coordinated manner. Often our clients have co-occurring disorders.Ĭlients who have a diagnosed substance abuse disorder and a diagnosed mental illness are considered to have a co-occurring disorder. Clients with a co-occurring disorder undergo treatment for both disorders simultaneously for a successful recovery. Our services include detoxification, mobile crisis management and facility-based crisis services, short and long-term residential rehabilitation/halfway houses, intensive outpatient, criminal justice resource center, aftercare, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, integrated primary medical health care, and community intervention support.Ĭlients come to Freedom House Recovery Center for mental health disorders and illnesses or substance abuse and addiction. In 1974 Freedom House Recovery Center was founded as a non-profit half-way house and detoxification center for recovering adult alcoholics in Chapel Hill.
